The IRS announced that taxpayers have an additional day to file and pay their taxes following system issues that surfaced early on the April 17 tax deadline. You heard it right… The tax deadline for 2017 tax returns is now midnight on Wednesday, April 18.
Why The New Tax Deadline?
The IRS website had system issues on Tuesday, April 17.
Action for You
You don’t need to take any additional step to notify the IRS if you are filing on April 18.
Keep in mind: You may also file an extension today for an extended deadline of October 15, 2018.
